Ministries

We are an active, vibrant church that is not program-focused, but rather people focused. We offer a wide range of ministries for each family member to get connected, stay connected, grow in the Word and grow closer to God. Below are a few of our ministries.

Leaders Contact Information: Corazon Marcellino, coramar46@yahoo.com. Simbang Gabi – or Evening Mass – is one of the most important and popular traditions of the Philippine people. It is during Simbang Gabi that Filipinos come together to prepare for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ as well as celebrate their values of family, hospitality and deep faith. It is also a time to reach out to everyone who may need fellowship, hope and love.

Introduced by Miguel Lopez de Legaspi, the Christmas celebration of Simbang Gabi begins with a novena of masses that begin on December 16 and conclude on December 24 with a noche buena – Christmas family dinner – after midnight mass. Simbang Gabi is one of the best-loved and most celebrated traditions in all parts of the Philippines.

Filipino-Americans brought Simbang Gabi to the United States, finding it an effective way to build a community of faith. Filipino-Americans can express who they are as a people, celebrate their religious traditions and culture as well as reach out to other Filipinos in their parish, particularly those who are not active in church. Because Simbang Gabi brings out so many beautiful Filipino values and evokes nostalgic memories of the Philippines, people are willing to make special effort to participate in the novena.

Simbang Gabi transcends cultural boundaries and is a unifying time in our parish.
