Hispanic Committee

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace
in its various forms.”

                                                                                                                               1 Peter 4:10

We are a group of lay people of many nationalities who have heard the voice of the Lord and we work voluntarily for the parish and community. We offer our talents, time and treasure. This ministry is conducted in Spanish only.

Our goals are:

  • To periodically organize reflections and at least one retreat per year in order to foster the spiritual growth of its members
  • To respect and acknowledge the Pastoral Parish Council (PPC) as the top authority in the parish
  • To be at the disposition of the PPC to  support all their projects, in order to promote growth in the community
  • To promote unity and collaboration between the different groups and ministries, in search of better relations and solutions for problems
  • We always have the guidance of our pastor to accomplish our mission
  • To participate actively in all parish events, like the celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes Feast, the annual Dinner Dance, the Summer Celebration, Concerts, etc.
  • To organize fundraising activities to help with the parish needs; for example the Pan American Festival, when we highlight our cultural diversity, since we have members from 23 different countries in the parish
  • To help each group in the celebration of their devotions and traditions
  • To develop short term projects with the approval of the pastor
  • To be ready to help in parish emergencies and to assist the pastor immediately
  • We meet the first Sunday of every month with the attendance of 2 members of each group and ministry who bring questions and issues
  • We receive information of the parish events through the Rectory Office.
