Parish Pastoral Council
Where there is no vision, the people perish.
Proverbs 29: 18
The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) is a group of faith-filled men and women who represent the needs, hopes, and ideas of the Our Lady of Lourdes Parish community. The PPC presents and implements the vision for the entire parish with the Pastor and parish staff. Each member of the PPC is a visible leader and an active steward within the parish community. All PPC members serve as a resource for the parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes.
The purpose of the PPC is to encourage and support the ministries at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish and to evaluate the quality of life of the faith community in light of our mission statement: Seek Unity, Celebrate Diversity by Praying, Caring, and Sharing.
Some of the main functions of the PPC include evaluating the mission statement, assessing the needs of the parish, determining parish goals and strategies, directing the implementation of the strategies, evaluating the success in achieving the parish's mission, representing Our Lady of Lourdes in the Deanery Council meetings, and communicating with the various commissions and ministries.
The PPC meets once a month, excluding any special sub-committee meetings that may take place. Depending on the various goals and objectives of the year, subcommittees are formed to work on the details and initiatives of any projects that may arise. PPC meetings are very active with each member fully engaged and participating in discussions. Each PPC member understands his/her role in presenting his/her thoughts, ideas, and opinions on the important topics of discussion.
